LED lights

Any experience out there with LED lighting that would eliminate the need for Metal Halides? Bulbs are supposed to last for 5 yrs, cost less to run and significantly reduce heat as well as provide the glimmering effect everyone likes. What's the incentive not to get these? Also, have a canopy that needs retro fitting - 90 gal - would 36" strip be sufficient? Thanks for your help.

Just ordered one for the other side of tank, sliding MH over and adding an LED, 10000K. I have not heard good or bad as far as affect marine tanks. I will stay in touch with results..
