Anyone have a clean up crew in their Fuge?

Well I saw my bros fuge and there seems be some detritus build up in certain areas, So I was wondering if anyone has put in a clean up crew to help clean up the detritus. If you do what recommendations would you recommend for clean up crew?

No cleanup crew here. It's all done with the critters that take refuge down there. If I notice a build up, I either syphon it out during a water change or use a turkey baster for detailed precision.

Anyone have problems with snails runing off maybe up the skimmer outlets or the returns?

I have a couple of hermits that occasionally....maybe more than occasionally, climb over baffles into my return chamber...where there is nothing to eat. What idiots....

I don't think any hermits will reach my bros overflow. No rocks are stacked that high.

I have a fuge/refugium, I placed large Turbo snails in the different sections, they are too big to get by the baffles, and to large to get into my pump suctions, small snails can jam up in pump impellers. Seems to work to eat stuff, and had not have a problem with them in there yet. Refugium has a sand bed, and some Tonga rock and ruble, and Cheato.

how would they know that without going there, they might have run out of food where they were at, and they just drift. It is like going to a new restaurant, do not know till you try it. I also think snails are very low on the brain scale. LOL. Not a bash, too much of that seems to be in RC lately. Just a comment!

i have ceriths, peppermint shrimp and turbos...doesnt hurt to have them i figure...they dont eat pods

but....

if there is detritus collecting in places, its form very low flow. the things that eat it, still have to poop, so theyre just putting out what they take in...

it would be just like nothing was ever there., the best way to get rid of it has been suggested... siphon during water changes.

snailsno crabs beacuse they eat snails. and a peppermint shrimp.... just incase..
