Light and Ballast Placement

Well... I just blew a bundle on a 6 foot Maristar. I've never had a large tank before. Matter of fact I'm stepping up from a 24 gallon Nano to AG 215 gallon. Whew what a project.

I never imagined the ballast for this type of light were so large. Pictures are a little misleading. I have a Bluewave 3 and a Bluewave 7. So that said I have a couple of questions.

1.) Can these be mounted under the tank? Or will these create too much heat?

2.) Is there a mininum distance I should hang the light from the top of the tank?

Thanks!
