How old is your tank?

Sounds like diatoms. This is a normal stage of a new tank and should correct itself with time.

My tank has been set up for about a month and a half. So this is a normal stage? Are there any fish I could get to help get rid of the brown?

A sandsifting fish may assist in keeping the sandbed stirred up, which in turn helps a little with the diatoms, but honestly, don't worry about em at all. just give the tank a couple more weeks. They should go away on their own, be sure to expect some other forms of annoying algae to pop up afterwards, again normal. The tank will be a little unstable and going through alot of maturing in the next several months. So lot's of new stuff popping up, maybe causing the tank to look a little unsightly for awhile, but just hang in their.

Just keep up with your maintenance. As brian2kgt said, it is perfectly normal - no need to get a fish to sort it. You can run a phosban reactor to help get rid of phosphates. Its a good idea to run them from the initial stages of your tank.
