I got reading...
I got reading about water changes...I have a 30 gallon tank and I do only 1.5 gallon water change a week. Should I be doing more like 3 gallons, making it 10%? I cant get my nitrates to 0...they stay anywhere from 2-5.

You dont have to do weekly water changes, In that amount of time the elements in the salt mix you use arent all being used. I do my water changes once monthly at 15%.

2-5 nitrates is really good. Although, 0 is even better. Some people here in RC would kill for that reading. Making it 3 gallons instead of 1.5 should not make a dent on your nitrates anyway.
