I have 13W/g of PC light on my nano and also get hardly any growth on my rocks, but lots under them and in the shade... I don;t think its a function of the type of fixture, just goes a long with increased lighting. From what I understand, the dark coralline we love is from deeper parts of the ocean and doesn't really get much light... Lighter shades grow better with increased lighting.
