Two Refugium

Looking for an opinion on the above subject. I current running a display refugium(separate from my sump) with the photo period running opposite the display tank. I have plenty of room is my sump and was thinking of running another refugium with the photo period the same as the display tank. Just looking for additional NO3 and PO4 exportation while the photo period on the display refugium is off. I donot want to run the photo period 24/7, which I can on the display refugium. I tried this in the past and notice unwanted algae growth in my fuge. I also believe plants need a dark period. Again, this is only my opinion and do not want to start a debate on this subject; photo period 24/7 or opposite display tank.

Opposite display. 12 on 12 off. Two refugiums are better than one. More space to grow, more water volume, more nutrient reduction ect.

Its a good idea to have a refrence sample for alk test kits. 1.1350 grams of baking soda in 1gallon of distilled water=10dkh. Check your alkalinity test kit!
Algae is Mother Natures phosphate remover

Current Tank Info: 220 galon mixed reef.

With refugia, more is better. But having a dark period is a good thing. Be careful with caulerpa as it can go sexual.
