Zooxanthellae !

Hi ,,,,

What is Zooxanthellae ? and is it live insde the corals or in the sea ater ?

Zooxanthellae is the photosynthetic algae that live inside corals. Without it, there would be no corals.

Current Tank Info: 5 pieces of glass with some silicone and plastic frames holding them together

Why do you want to increase it? Corals regulate the population of zooxanthellae in their tissues in accordance with the amount of light they are exposed to. The more light the fewer zooxanthellae needed to provide the coral with the nutrients needed. Less light = more zooxanthellae. That is if the coral has the ability to adapt to the light. If the light is outside the corals acceptable range it will die.

Current Tank Info: I'm trying to see how many tanks will fit in my house before the wife loses it.
