Calcium Reactor Question

I got a Geo calcium reactor and it says to feed water through a maxi jet powerhead, can I feed the the reactor with my return pump and a valve gate instead?

You can, but you need to consider what would happen when its time to feed your tank and you shut off your return pump, thus leaving the reactor dry.

The reactor won't be dry, it will still be circulating unless it is a bad design or is sucking air from someplace. I had both a Korallin and an MRC hooked up in this fashion and had no issues.

The tank isn't up any longer but there are several ways to tap into your return. Is yours pvc, flex or??? Between the tap and the reactor you need a valve. I used a spare ball valve from an R/O and it worked great to control the flow going into the reactor.
