culligan di unit

Has anyone ever used a culligan Di unit for water purification? I've been using one for about a year now, but have constantly battling bryopsis. I don't have a tds meter, so until then I can't give you any tds readings. It's both a cation and anion unit.

Current Tank Info: 1 gallon pico with 1,000 watt Helios 20K.
