Tunze 9010 or BM 160
What would best suite my 60 cube. Pro's and con's, best performer etc. Thanks for the info.

I know Tunze is a great company that puts out excellent products, but their skimmers do not seem like they are very efficient in design. The 9010 is just so small it doesnt seem right. I think if those are the two you are set on BM all the way.

I heard that they were pretty good so I thought I would see what everyone has to say. Thanks for the input

my 9010 works great. So easy and quite, and takes up no space

my 9010 is great also. I have seen a few unhappy customers with their 9010, i.e. complaints with no skimmate after 3-4 days. I gave mine about a week to break in and I am very happy with it. I see fewer people selling used Tunze skimmers than any other skimmer and Tunze's support is fantastic. Also many people believe that you need a large chambered skimmer to efficiently produce skimmate-I dont belive that.

I like my 9020 which is just two 9010 put together. I had an ER before this and like this much better. Its just so easy to get it to skim and the best part about it is I never have to touch it except to clean it. It is expensive though but I got mine used at a good price.

I tried using a 9010. Did not like it at all. I ended up upgrading significantly to the BK mini 180. I haven't looked back since.
Personally I would go with the BM 160 if those are the only two you are looking at.

i gave my 9010 several months to produce skimmate without success. i'll admit that it is quiet though.

I sold a ER RS-100 for a DOC 9010. My 9010 is smaller, skims better than my ER, and I like the ease of use. Plus, it's very quiet. It gave me more room to put more LR in my sump. Lots more...

I have a 9010, wouldnt recommend for a tank as big as mine. On a 60g tank I think it would be great tho. Take a look at who likes it and who doesnt. I think Tunze overrates them a bit, and thus why some people dont like them (those w/ 100g+ tanks).
