octopus skimmer over flowing
I have a octo 150 that I drilled out the air hole at the elbow next to the pump out put. Now the skimmer skims over flows with bubbles. Do I have to much air now?

you drilled out the hole and put what in its place? If it is leaking and drawing in water that could be your problem.

I just made the air intake larger now it pulls in way more air. The way it comes the o ring covers half the hole

You made need to adjust the riser. IE shortening it. I had to do the something when I modded my dual recirc 150. Take a look at the octo mod thread.

You will probably have to open up the drain. If you have done the gate valve mod. open valve if not lower riser tube

Im not sure about the exact inches, however including my ball valve my total riser is about half of the skimmer body. I do have my gate valve adjusted accordingly.
Its well worth it spending some time and reading that post.

I just put the short tube that came with the skimmer as the riser its about 3/4 of a inch shorter than the riser thats supposed to be there. For now I left the ball valve all the way open. I will give it some time I think I raise the water level a little.
