Question skimmer question.......

i have a in-sump skimmer that im thinking of moving out of my sump by attaching some hose from the pump to the skimmer intake. right now my skimmer is sitting too deep in my sump, but raising it isn't really a option because its under my tank and barely fits as it is.
has anyone ever used a in sump skimmer externaly by using tubing? will it work?
any opinions would be great.

what brand is your insump?

I know that euro reef sumps cannot. You'd require different plumbing/pump.

You can try making of your own. The hardest parts to find would be the clear PVC. Your local hardware stores usually do not carry these.

I know of a few that can be used as hang on or in sump, such as the coralife ones.
