hi im making a tank and i was wondering, if the tube says 100% silicone will be ok to use underwater it is fda aproved the companies name is dap i wanted to get some input before i assembled the tank
it also says 100% rubber silicone will tht ake a difference thanks, meer ![]()

Does the package say anything about mold resistant or additives? If it does then it would not be safe for a tank.

Yeah, read the label word for word. You'll find that most silicone sealants will actually say "not for use in aquariums". I would look for one that says it is. I've used the AGA clear before, it was great. I think it was from DFS.

I use lanco marine silicone clear for my acuariums without problems for more than six years.
