AZ-NO3 (Absolute Zero - Nitrates)

Anyone here use this stuff?

I was given a orange monticap yesterday but my nitrates are too high (25ppm) and was wondering how quickly this stuff will work.

I found that the only thing that really works is water changes and time. I would not recommend using any chemicals.

Take a look at feeding schedule? Feeding too much?

I have been doing large water changes to keep nitrates under control but it gets REALLY expensive on salt after a while. I have a large bioload (4 tangs) and I am starting to cut down feeding. My skimmer is probably undersized for my bioload aswell.

Melev actually decided to try this stuff. I should PM him and ask how it worked out.

I haven't personally used it, but I've done some research into it and it seems that people typically have good results in terms of nitrate reduction with it. Good skimming is needed to remove the bonded nitrate.

However, it does seem that there might be a danger of starving your tank of nitrates.

I personally didn't use it and went with a DSB instead. (which is working great for me)
