Salt Creep & salinity, big concern?

I'm curious: Let's say you've a week's worth of creep on your components, does this actually effect (contribute to a lowering of) your salinity? If you brush said creep off and back into the water, does this effect salinity drastically?

I'm not talking about months and months of build-up, like I said above, let's just assume we're dealing with 1 week's worth.

I would have to assume that a weeks worth of salt build-up, from evaporation wouldn't make that big a difference, but I would also guess that would depend on the amount of evaporation.

If it happened, and you tested the SG of the water, that would tell you for sure.

As for brushing/scraping back it back into the tank, I don't think that's a good idea depending on what's in the tank. That salt falling back into the water can cause burns to certain livestock.

Let's suppose the water flowing from the tank into the skimmer compartment of my refugium was running a bit fast and caused a bit of salt spray and bubbles upon entering the chamber - as long as the excess bubbles at this point of entry were not actually passing intact through the refugium and back up through the sump, would this cause concern?

Any point in diffusing these bubbles? Like I said, no air in the return noted. Just very bubblicious as the water is entering the skimmer compartment.

Sorry, am just trying to diffuse (ha!) another spending spree at Home Depot. A sock would damper these bubbles, ya?

A sock will eliminate the bubbles. Just replace with a clean sock every 3 days.
