Can I feed with the lights off?

This may be a dumb question but I honestly don't know. Can I feed my fish with the lights off? I recently turned down my light cycle from 12/10 hours (actincs for 12, 10K for 10) to 8/6 hours. I would like to be able to feed my fish 2-3 times per day as opposed to my current once per day feeding cycle. My work schedule doesn't allow me to feed during the day so I am left with in the morning before I go to work or in the envenings when I get home.

At 8 am when I leave my lights are not on yet and won't turn on until 2 pm. Would it be ok to feed just before I leave? Would the lights being off cause any problems?

It depends on what other lighting is in the room. If there are bright lights still on when you feed, and the fish are still awake and are able to see the food, then they won't have any problems.

But if by the time you get home and they are asleep, then obviously they aren't going to eat.
