I just bought a GSM Clown mated pair last weekend, been looking for a pair for a long time. The LFS had two pair I picked the older pair, drip acclimated for about 2 hours put them in my tank, next morning male was dead, the next morning after that the female was dead. I have been bummed all week.

I put 3 purple fire fish in the tank, went out to pick up a pizza and found all 3 dead on the carpet. Probably took me 20 minutes to get the pizza
UGH
BTW, that was back when they were close to 100 bucks each

We did use the bucket method quite a bit.

I bought a lawnmower blenny that died before I even got back to my car. He spasmed and went rigid, I went back into the store, was told don't worry it's normal. No it was not normal, he was dead but I only found it out after driving an hour home and trying to aclimate the poor thing.

I bought a cute little clown one time. One of the tiny ones.. I guess he had never seen a powerhead before because within minutes of being released from the bag he was diced food for the rest of the tank... Poor guy..

I have tried 2 clowns over the years one that was diced and one that was ran to death by damsels..

I had a freshwater fish die on the way home. I lived about 1-2 miles from the LFS at that point.

My son once added a pep shrimp to the tank, with the flow still going full force. The shrimp looked like it was in a washing machine (whirrr, whirrrr, round and round we go ! )

Only settled onto the bottom, dead within minutes. Worse part was explaining to his mom how he had spent 7 bucks on a shrimp, and couldn't even eat it for dinner

When I lived in Iowa, my Florida girlfriend flew up to visit and brought 2 fish with her to surprise me. It was a 12 hour nightmare trip carrying these bags. This was before 9/11.

One was an angler and the other a royal gramma. We put them in the tank together, swam down to the bottom where the angler promptly ate the gramma in about 10 seconds. Later that night the angler died.

She was crushed.

This has to be one of the greatest threads ever!!!

I put off buying a lionfish for so long, fearing what destruction it might bring to my tank. But after much deliberation, my draw to the fish won over and I purchased a dwarf lion to put in my tank. LASTED ABOUT 3 MINUTES!

After acclimation, placed him in the tank. He did one lap around the tank, was making a turn around a rock structure in the middle of the tank and a 4 year old Emerald Crab took his head off with a claw. I stared in shock longer than he lasted in the tank. I don't know if he surprised him or if he fealt threatened, but the guy at the LFS said he had never heard of it happening before.

Now, 3 tanks later, I've still never bought another Emerald Crab, THEY'RE DANGEROUS!!!

I bought a new Mandarin, acclimated him, dropped him in my tank, and then my rather large Clown fish grabbed him and took him straight to my carpet anenome which promptly closed up on him and had dinner.

Thumbs down bad decision

A girl that was helping at a chain pet store told me she had a porcupine puffer with Ich. Her treatment method was to use a cleaner shrimp to clean the ich off!!

Cleaner Shrimp, It was transhipped, I wasn't aware of the acidity in the bag. Died of PH shock I assume upon hitting the water. I netted it, put the net in the tank, and released it, It picked up Rigor mortis as drifted the remaining 18 inches to the sand, rolled over. I would say less than three seconds.
