worm iD

Anyone have any info on this worm? Caught this guy because i heard my skimmer overflowing.
Checked on it and found this guy blocking the return on my skimmer!!!!!!

looks almost more like a chiton than a worm.....but ive never seen one quite like that...the holes in its back could be a slug too.

I obviously have no idea....lol...... but am curious what it ends up being.

is it hard or soft??

The back of it is hard and the bottom appears to have 2 long soft feet like a Turbo snail.

that is a Cryptoplax sp. chiton 100%. generally considered safe. they are usually just algae eaters.

this says they eat sponges

I dont think sponges live for very long anyway so id put it back in

chances are your species is a Cryptoplax larvaefrmis, or something really close. those are algae eaters. it would be safe to put back.

sweet if it's safe for everything else in your tank put it back in or atleast the sump

Seems like the inhabitants of the reef are near infinite doesn't it? If stuff like this can survive into our tanks, imagine what is out there in the wild...
