LR from Liveaquaria?

Has anyone purchased any live rock from them and if so, where u happy with the live rock? I'm thinking about buying 22 or 45lbs more live rock. Just wanted to know if it was worth buying. Thanks Chong

IMO, www.premiumaquatics.com is your better deal.
they sell LR by the pound or package deals, and if you call them when you place your order they will hand pick your LR and even mix different types in one shipment.

example: Kaelini, Fiji, Tonga, and rubble rock (cured or uncured) all in one shipment.

I've bought Lalo from LA and was very happy with the service and product. As soon as I'm done plumbing my 55g, I'll be returning to them for another order.

LiveAquaria are a stellar outfit, but honestly, I wasn't impressed with the "Premium" Fiji rock I got from them.

45 pounds, 4 rocks, very dense, obviously hacked from larger pieces, and one of those was a massive boulder, about 20 lbs. In the end, I only used one small piece when setting up my 75G.

Mind you, I haven't bought any LR for years, so maybe this is typical of Premium Fiji, but like I said, I was disappointed.

A lot of places sell premium liverock that doesn't have hardly any growth on it.

I just bought about 100 lbs or premiumium cured fiji from premium aquatics and have been very happy. I was able to go myself and choose each rock, but those who have had it shipped have also been very happy. Their customer service is also excellent.

i ordered all my shipments from live aquaria and was happy with all 4 especialy the tonga show size 2 peices that were at least 15 inches, very porous rock. the fiji i've ordered from there never was very big usualy around 4-10 inches and a denser rock, as stated when you buy it. all depends what you are looking for.

I too purchased Lalo live rock from LA and was not too impressed. What I got and what they show a pic of on their website are two completly different things.

i like LA for the most part, but i ordered ~20 lbs of fiji live rock from them. the 4 pieces i got were definitely hacked off a larger piece. all of them had two completely flat sides that were white and the rocks were just square...i did not get any interesting shapes. when i order more, i will try another place or look locally.

Purchased 44lbs. of Fiji premium from live aquaria 5 month ago, cycle was very short, the rock had real good coralline algy, and the pieces of the rock was perfect, also premium aquatics live rock is good as live aquaria. You wont be disappointed.
