Question are pink tip anenomes reef safe?

can a pink tip be added to a reef? or are they too agressive? anyone keeping them?

They can kill corals just like any other anemone.

When you say pink tiped, is it clear overall with pink tips? If so, they are like that in the ideal light, water conditions. A friend of mine bought one and put it in his tank. It changed to all pink/red, more red. not at all as prety as it was in the store.

Couldn't have said it any better myself. No anemone is truly reef safe. It's up to you to provide it appropriate lighting, placement, water conditions, room to grow and there's still no guarantee.

it is pretty transparent with bright pink tips. it east really well. it catches brine and mysis shrimp and chopped oyster on occasion. it's a beautiful creature, but i don't want it harming my zoas and shrooms. i think i'll start searching for a home for him. right now, he's found his spot and has not moved from there, but i know any slight change, he will.

I have a heavy SPS (150 gallon) tank the first thing i put in my tank 11 years ago was a pink tip anemone i learned the hard way that it will kill SPS. they will get big i just can't take it out of my tank its like part of the family.
