??? Tiny, fast, flea-like creature ???
Ok so we saw this critter.. for about a nano second..
It was by far the Fastest thing I've ever seen.. In fact I'm wondering now If I imaged it....... It appeared to be 1/5 of an inch long, greyish and sort of flea looking or like a silverfish cockroachy type thing... It 'ran' on the top of the rock and then dissapeared into it.. what the heck is it? No way I'll ever get a photo.. I don't think my camera shutter is fast enough...... |

Is it the first one on this page? If so that is a good thing not bad.

It is possible that it is the good "Pod".. itthey do tend to "run" around on the rock work.. I have not seen it attach it'self to any fish or anytign like that.. In fact I've only sen them once or twice and then only from the side and for a nano second..

Larah,
Definitely a copod. My tank is filled with them, yes they do look just like grey fleas. This is a good thing to have. They will help remove detritus from your tank and a good food source for those fish, inverts that need small animals to feed off of. I rarely see them during the day when the lights are on but at night if you place a low watt light on or in front of the tank depending on your population you could see dozens or more. Scott

Yes we like to turn the lights off at night, wait a while and then use a small blue flash light and see what we see...
It took a while and staring at a fixed point on the LV rock for a looong time and then we started to ee the "flea" creatures.. I am sooooo EXCITED! thanks for your input! |

Your welcome. Isn't this hobby exciting? I've been in it for many years and I still get excited about seeing something in the tank no matter how small. I also have very small they look like tiny orange critters that I only see at night as well as all kinds of things crawling on the sand. It's like the tank becomes a whole different world at night with unusual creatures you won't see when the lights are on.
Scott
