adding new fish

Ok I have added two new fish to my tank and both times did what the stor said Took the fish out of the bag put it in a bucket just let the water go above the fish alittle and then start a syphon of a small hose and let it drip into the bucket for 30 minutes to let the fish get used to the water DO NOT add the bag to the tank or the water they say because their water contains metal is this the correct way?

You definitely do not want to add their water to your tank.

What I normally do for fish is just float the bag for 20-25 minutes to get the water temp acclimated.

I personally only use the drip method for corals, snails, crabs, etc.

I'm sure that you're not hurting anything by doing it the way you have been. If your fish are living, I wouldn't fix what isn't broke.
