Dog chewing on live rock help!

Seriously... I was working in the new tank and had a couple nice pieces of rubble I found in the live sand I just bought. Set them on a tupperware lid... looked and the dog was chewing on a nice piece.

Is he going to be ok?

Is the rock?

I imagine the dog will be fine. Dogs are pretty resilient. Sounds like it was just a piece of rock, so I doubt there would be any toxins in it... not like he ate some corals.

As for the rock... I would probably rinse it off in some saltwater and toss it in with the rest.

Most likely he will be fine. I don't want to alarm you, but a few years back there was a thread where a dog ate some zoas and died. Just a reminder as you go further along in the hobby to be careful. Sounds like this time, he'll ok if it was just rock rubble without corals on it.

Looks like your dog doesnt like his toys, maybe you could by him a nice peice of LR to make him happy. :-) Hey I have come to home to much worse, a RIO 1400 chewed to shreds, still work but pretty much useless and a test bottle of calcium with teeth marks punchured right through, but I was able to save half the bottle.

Griffin ate the intake to a big HOB filter the other day. He especially enjoyed the impeller. He loves 20 oz bottles, toilet paper, Swiffer sweepers, and flake fish food (I think he likes the containers).

My other two Schnauzers have had the same stuffed animals for years, Griff has killed them all in 3 months. I buy him tough stuff like Kong toys, he ignores them. Buy him a clearance stuffed animal that makes noise, he loves it, until he kills it.

I rip out the electronics inside that make the noise after they are killed. My intent is to stuff them into Kong type toys and see what happens.
