Phosphate Insight
Do you think there is a need for products like Phos-Ban, Kent Power-Phos or PhosGuard in a 12G Nanocube w/ Featherdusters, Fire Shrimp (and corals in the future)? With feeding brine shrimp and phytoplankton into the tank would this assist in maintaining good water quality? Insight greatly appreciated.

There is definitely a need if you start developing an algae problem. Feeding of any type will not assist in maintaining water quality, as food is the usually the primary source of Phosphate. I'd also refrain from putting phytoplankton in a tank that small, but that's just me.

I have a biocube. I'm not sure how similar that is to a nanocube, other than being an "all-in-one" system.
I needed to use GFO. I didn't really have a way to hook up a reactor, so I'm using it in a filter sock in the sump chamber.

So far, there is not an algae problem.

Have you had the water tested for phosphates yet?

Eric,
Good question. Eventually your going to develop phosphates do to the fact that organic matter will settle and decay it happens in all tanks unless you have a major filtration system going. If you can put a phosban reactor on your tank without it affecting the functioning of your tanks systems it won't hurt IMO. Scott
