"Returning" enthusiast asks about current thoughts
Last time I was into this, I was planning on a protein skimmer and wet/dry and/or sump based filtration. Unless something revolutionary has come by I figure these are still good methods, but well... HAS anything revolutionary come by?
Just thought I'd dive into new tech since I'm back to dive into the hobby. FYI, I only never made it that far to begin with because of school and/or living arrangements which are better at this time. Ian |

Na nothing more advanced that a good skimmer,& good sump,& or fuge setup.
IMO wet dry sumps are not necessary because of all the biological bacteria on the LR.

To Reef Central The sticky notes at the top of the forum have a lot of useful pointers. I agree with avoiding the wet-dry for a reef tank.

so PS and Sump or fuge... sweet...
Yeah I'm sure everyone says it but I intend to have only one mini reef. I dont think I can really even support many fish at the size I'm thinking, maby inverts instead... idk... I know right now I only have the time for one small tank... well and the room haha... I |

Like everyone else said, avoid the wet/dry, have adequate LR, and a skimmer in the sump. Oh and f-i-g-h-t t-h-e u-r-g-e t-o u-p-g-r-a-d-e!
