moon snail help
Hi all!
I just got a used 125 gallon tank and it came with a few snails and a huge moon snail. I have a little 20 gallon tank set up already, so I threw them all in it. The only problem is that the moon snail doesn't have enough sand to bury himself in. I'm afraid he's going to knock over my live rock and make a mess of my tank. Can I just put him in a bucket of sand and water with a heater and air stone? Or are they really sensitive to water quality? Should I take him to the LFS tomorrow? Right now he's just staying in one place, but I don't know how long he'll stay there. Any comments are greatly appreciated! |

Nor enough food. I wouldnt use the buckey.Find a friend or LFS to babysit. They do like cooler conditions and dont think anything that big would be safe in any reef tank.
But theres always a chance for rockslide if rock isnt secure. With larger main pieces on the glass bottom with epoxy to help hold and working up from there useing epoxy to secure. Its best to find a rock configuration thats stable before you epoxy down.I know i went off topic but thought was relivent condifering your upgrading. |

Thanks for the info on the rocks. Do you think I should leave him in the tank for now or bucket? Cause the LFS is not open right now.

I wouldnt leave in the bucket to long and with new water. If its mature water then he should be fine a day or two but would be safer in the tank.

It's mature water and mature sand, but if you think he won't destroy my tank then I'll leave him in there.
