sand making cloudy water???
i rinsed through the sand that i was going toput in the tank and the filters are running but the water is cloudy... what's up??

I think no matter how much you rinse you will always have some kind of cloudy water. When I changed over to a bigger tank I had rinsed my sand really well but also had cloudy water. Rinsing does make it go away faster since you got a lot of the dust out already. Mine was clear the next morning and I read about people that don't rinse the sand needed several days for it to clear up.
On the other hand, some people suggest not to rinse since the smaller particles are beneficial for a deep sand bed. I didn't go for a deep sand bed so I didn't mind rinsing at all. |

It's normal, mine clouded up for a day or two. It will will get better with time. What kind of sand did you add?
