Tank Cycling
I added sand 1 week ago and 200 pounds of live rock Friday evening. I have been monitoring water parameters and haven't notice the onset of the spikes that was expecting to see.
Nitrates, Nitrites, and amonia are all zero. PH is 8.8. The water did become cloudy today lots of air bubles forming on the rock and in the sand bed. Shouldn't I see the parameters going up by now? Thanks, |

I added 137lbs to mine (120Gal) and NH3 is just starting to show up now. it's been almost a week. Give it time for stuff to rot a little..

If the live rock is clean, the parameters might stay zero. That's okay, but a delayed spike is possible, so I'd just wait for three weeks of zero ammonia.
