how are you currently mixing and prepping your salt water for water changes?

If you don't plan on new additions on a regular basis you might not want it set up.

If you can maintain a stable tank, once your fish/coral make it out of QT and settled in they generally will not have a lot of problems.

i have 5 gallon water jugs that i fill up with r/o water and add my salt and just shake it up to mix it. I'm just worried about diseases.

I would pick up a 10 gal for a qt tank. That way you can run the wet/dry for three days or so on the main tank , take water out of the main tank and have your qt up and going easily.
