lighting a 75 gallon

Could someone please recomend some good metal halide 250 watt 14 k bulbs? Or a good source? I keep getting these mh bulbs on ebay for 10 bucks, they do well for about a month then sssspppttt The coral close up, or dont open all the way. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Other factors could be causing this. Have you checked your water paremeters? Any thing bothering them? What type of coral is being affected?

What kind of ballast do you have? Pulse start or not. If pulse I recommend Ushio bulbs, assuming that they are mogul bases. If not I would say that XM makes some good bulbs. Just chose the color you would like.
10,000K = yellow but best coral growth
20,000K = very blue but less coral growth
14,000K - 15,000K = right in the middle (what I have)

Actually, its just the zoanthids, but they are really cool ones.
But thats besides the point. I need a good quality light for my tank, hopefully one that wont break the bank. WaTER PARAMS ARE FINE. tHE LIGHTS JUST LOSE THEIR BLUISH TINGE I need something diffrent. Anybody?

Current Tank Info: 75 gallon tank, 30 gallon sump/refugium. 1/10 chiller, mag 9 chiller return. Mag 12 main return. 2 seio 620? 1 seio 800. TLF phosban 150, skimmer, Calcium reactor unknown. 2 250 watt 14,000k metal halide. 100- 150pds live rock. AC jr

I have Phoenix or Hamilton and they hold to their color.

if you go with XM's go with either the 10k OR 20k they are best for par the 15K suck IMO.
