white paint for inner cannopy..what kind?
Hey, everyone
I just got done building a new canopy for my 180. I was planning on painting the inside bright white instead of staining. What kind of paint is suggested. I was going to use a exterior oil based gloss white, and polyuerathane over it. Will this be fine? Thanks Swann |

The white paint is fine, as for type i prefer killz, comes in oil or latex. About the uerathane, i wouldnt suggest it just because most these days are water based.

I have some minwax oilbased polyur which I was gonna use just to help protect the inside further. As for paint I think I will return the stuff I got, and get the killz. I swear the guy said the stuff I bought was oilbased but Im not seeing it on the can.

Isnt Kilz a primer/stain cover? Didnt know they made paint. Also, I think its got an ingredient to prevent mold and mildew. I wonder if that is toxic such that if water drips from it could possibly be harmful to the tank. I dont know, im just putting it out there. I am probably overly careful as to anything that could get in the tank.

Kilz is a primer. Works amazingly well.
