does an octo dnw200 require certian water level?
I am making a sump out of a 50 breeder (36x18x18). nedd to know waht size to make baffles.
I'm thinking left side of tank drain from display as well as home for skimmer. refugium area in middle then three baffels for bubble trap. lastly return pum section. my theory is having the display drain into skimmer section will all me to keep a constent water level for the skimmer. the evaporation will effect the refugium and return section. |

You definataly want your skimmer section to be consistent. The 200 runs best at 8-10"

The DNW-200 is a recirc skimmer, water level doesn't matter as the feed pump and the valve control the water level inside the skimmer body.

just the man I wanted to here from.
I have a 120 and am looking for new skimmer to put in sump. Do you think the octo is the way to go or maybe the msx. To save money is better but I am willing to spend $400 for a reliable skimmer that does not need to many mods. any other skimmer suggestions would be good too. |
