refugium crushed coral?
im setting up a new refugium and was just wondering about using crushed coral rather than sand. has anyone done it? if so i could def use some input

Much better to use sand. Crushed coral traps more detritus and has less surface area for bacteria.

Soon here I'll be doing ~4 inch DSB followed, with probably a couple of inches of crushed coral on top. I'm sure others will tell you not to use crushed coral because it's a detritus trap. I say it's a podhouse, and I laugh in the face of detritus ahahahahahaha.....

haha thanks for your help i just had some crushed coral that i wasnt using i guess ill just get some more sand tho..... any ideas on lighting?
