Sand in fuge

I have a 29 gallon AGA (BB) and all week I've been modding an AC 110 HOB into a fuge. What ideally should I have in there? Should I have a layer of sand and if so how much? (and why) Rubble? Or should I just have chaeto. Thanks for any help to my really newbie Q's

You can keep any amount of sand in there if you like its all preference seeing that you are BB I would probably do a DSB to establish some good bacteria in the sandbed. You can add live rock rubble if you want I just took all the tiny pieces that came with my shipment and threw it in there. You can put big pieces in there if you want doesn't matter. Chaeto is also fine to run in fuge

Mud is a little better in the aquaclear, because it will stay put a little better. Need to put some rubble next to the impellar, to keep the sand or mud from blowing all over your tank.
