Is it OK to place Corals on the sand?

I have a few pieces that I think are starting to bleach. I had them at the top of the tank about 3-4" from my T5. I don't have any places to put them midways in the tank so Im wondering if they will be ok on the sand?

The pieces are a LPS and a Mushroom

I think they'd be fine. How long have they been in the tank. Most corals should be started toward the bottom and moved up as they acclimate to the light.

ahh.. The LPS has been in there about a month. The Mushroom doesn't looked bleached yet but I am concerned he could become that way.

I'll take pics of them in a little while.

What is the "lps". Sounds a little weird. Did you replace bulbs or anything lately?

I can't say I've heard of shrooms bleaching, but I don't have a ton of experience with them. Every tank seems to have something you just can't keep. Mine seems to be ricordia and shrooms.

mushrooms do bleach. my rics and yuma got bleached because they were too close to the top.
as soon as i brought them down, weeks later, the colors came back.

also, some corals, like brains like being on the sand.

It just seems the green color in the middle of the polyps aren't uniform all the way acress each "tube". Some have a bit of white in them..

Hard to say, but zoos are lower light corals and it could happen. Shrooms and zoos should be low in the tank, All of my zoos are on the sand.
