measure you levels of calcium magnesium and alkalinity
I use Kent turbo calcium and kent Tech-M to bring up my levels to 400ppm and 1300ppm . I use Kent super dKH to bring up the alklanity to where i want it You can use the chemical calculator to figure this out for you Once your parameters are where you want them then follow the given amounts on the two part solutions for one week re test the parameters after one week adjust the two part up or down repeat this procedure for 4 weeks and you will have stable parameters for your particular tank It is also far cheaper this way then using the two parts to bring up the parameters--takes too much sometimes

IMO you probably dont need to dose as long as you keep up with your water changes. With that type of a volume in the tank water changes should solve most of your issues

I would think that the sps's will start to put a strain on calcium and alkalinity levels?
but you are correct with a 30 gal and water changes you wouldn't go through very much two part

Before adding the two part in equal portion you want to adjust the levels to within the targets. Calcium 380 to 450 ppm, Alk 7 to 11 dKh Mag. 1250 to 1350 ppm. Use the calculator linked below to determine amounts required for adjustments.
Once within proper range add the two parts in equal portions. There are two ways to determine how much: a) Trial and error, start with an amount relatively small and keep on increasing it every day until alkalinity tests show the alkalinity is no longer dropping. b) Do not add anything for two days test your alkalinity before and after and divide by two to determine your daily alkalinity consumptiom (drop) then use the calculator to determine how much of the two part to add to equal the consumption. http://reef.diesyst.com/chemcalc/chem_calc3.html
