This is a matter of taste. What looks good to you may not look good to others. Just make sure there is lots of space between the rocks for water flow.

New tank so I'm still waiting on the coralline to get a better foothold. But anyway, it's amazing what a drill, zip ties, and aqua putty can do. Supposedly the coralline will cover the zip ties eventually. Don't know if that is true but I'm still waiting. Maybe this example will help.

Saw, hammer, chisel and glue.

Above was said in some jest and truth also.

If all you've got are bunch of round globs it's harder, Tonga branch makes it easier. I have some rocks that have been sawed in half so I can epoxy them to the back wall and onto the overflow. I have broken some larger piece down with chisel and hammer. I have epoxied smaller pieces together to form shapes I wanted.

I just got done aquascaping a 75g to include arches and caves etc.. I'll try to take some pictures tonight as the reflections during the day are just horrible.

Woah - is that neon coraline? What kind of light is that under!? I have actinics and daylights and have NEVER seen anything like that!

Also - how hard is it to go back in and aquascape? Im just starting up, and my cycle is almost done, and I've been kind of constructing a 'rock wall' with space in the front, because I'm anxious to get going. It looks ok, but what if down the road I want to make an archway or something?

Being a contortionist and having the ability to defy gravity helps.

Al kidding aside, it's a combination of time, patience and selecting the right shaped rocks. It can be helpful to start with some dry base rock that you assemble with epoxy outside the tank to build a stable base. I've also found it very helpful to cut some eggcrate to fit the bottom of the tank to stabilize your baserocks then add sand.

I always make sure I have some small pcs & some large pcs, and a fer flat ones.

use the small rocke for blocks & larger ones 7 flat ones for shelves.

Then start stacking & building.......step back & look.

maybe you like it maybe not........knock um down & start again.

you will be suprised by what you come up with......you will also be suprised how many times you will play with them..

just make sure you make lots of caves & holes. This is where some fish will sleep & where some like to hide for safety.
