new here :)

just wanted to say hi everyone, a friend of mine said this is the biggest forum for saltwater aquariums so i decided to join
im in the process of setting up a tank with the help of a friend that told me that the key thing in this is dont go cheap unless you want to spend more later to upgrade
right now i am setting up a 40 gallon tank and he's going to drill it for me
he's had a 75 a few years and ive just loved it for so long and finally decided its time to get into it
well just wanted to introduce myself

im trying to spend all the money i can but its getting to the point in where will it end!!!
lol i still need to get some more plumbing fittings and it just seems like its never going to end!
i got all of the unions and the 90s and most of the ball valves but i need some barbed ball valves which i can only get via internet and i dont want to order them and then need to get more, so im trying to get one big order so i dont need to keep going back and forth, but with any project i do it seems like i go back and forth for one little thing or i change out one little thing which changes everything lol

Whats sweet is you get it all plumbed up and then you have extra parts left over. Months later you break something and YAY! you just get that box out and rig something up

The cost does slow down eventually too, lol. Well sort of, instead of spending all your money just so you can get the sand wet, you spend money on all manner of sea creatures

just thought id update on my progress
so far i got almost everything i need to set the tank up
i still need some 1.5" pvc cut which my friend said he'd do. hopefully sooner rather than later
i started plumbing the 1" stuff yesterday but i still need to tighten up some threaded fittings and clamp down some hosed fittings
i really want to get the 1" stuff done but the weekend but we'll see how the weekend goes, and hopefully the 1.5" stuff done by next week
still need 2x15g tanks for my sump and eel tank
actually, im not sure if i want to do an eel tank on that side or do a sea horse tank or maybe just a refugium
the sea horses really want you cant find anywhere so not really into the sea horse thing but i really want a golden dwarf moray
i dunno, we'll see how things go

If you are going to keep eels you will have to seal up the top of the tank extremely well. I have heard they are quite the escape artist!
