Shrimp Goby Fine Sand Compatibility

I'd like to get a pair of Amblyeleotris wheeleri or Stonogobiops nematodes and a corresponding pistol shrimp. I have roughly 2" of CaribSea Fiji Pink sand as my substrate. Would this work or do I need coarser sand?

Also, does Paracheilinus filamentosus ever dive in the sand to hide or sleep?
