how to safely add copepods to tank
I have a tank that has a mandarin ; my other fish in are in QT after ick outbreak; I had an infestation of copepods and got the mandarin ; now I hardly see any and I don't want this beautiful fish to die; I ordered some copepods but now I am afraid to add in something back into my main tank?? which has been fishless for about 4 weeks; I do have anemone, snails, starfish, shrimp and crabs in main tank
suggestions? |

It isnt a very good idea to add a mandarion to a tank that possible still has the ich parasite.
Also your pod population was depleted by the mandarin, the only way to fix this is to get a refugium and hope the pods can grow and reproduce faster than the mandarin can eat. As this fish eats 24/7 you will have a hard time keeping up. You should have a fuge setup for about a year to make sure everything is balanced and ready to aquire such a difficult fish to care for. Pods are good. They are part of the CUC and an infestation would be a good thing. You QT'd other fish because of the pods? You need to research some more i think your confused.This is why slow and easy are best.There are many factors to learn and without a basic understanding of your SW tank you will never really be in control.
