What is it that you want to know exactly??
Here is the basics... Liverock wil become a nutural filter if you use enough of it. For your tank I would go with atleast 55LBS of it. The rule of thumb to follow is 1 to 2 LBS of rock per gallon. When buying liverock buy the most porous rock you can find. It will helop save you money as they charge you per pound, dense rock will be heavier them porous. Also smell the rock, if it stinks it isnt fully cured, look for almost no smell or avoid ones that stink. Look at the color on the rock, this will also give you an idea of how cured it is etc. Filtration... This is the heart of the tank, you dont want to skimp or go cheap here. This hobby isnt cheap, to keep a weel balanced system you have to get good equipment. A sump is a very beneficial thing to have, A sump will be part of the filter.( the liverock is the other) |
