RO/DI Question ??

Iam ordering my new RO/DI unit from the filter guys. They said that I can use a saddle valve, or use a adapter to hook up to the faucet on the slop tub. I any case, all of the pipes in our house are copper. Is it going to be ok. Will the RO/DI unit filter it out, or is it still going to leach into the water.

Ro/Di will filter it out. I would go with the adaptor because you have to put a hole in the copper pipe with the saddle valve.

Cool....Thanks......Ya Iam getting the adapter for the faucet. I figure also its a lot more water PSI.

I see your in McHenry Il.........Iam down in the naperville area....just woundering what LFS do you use. I have 2 awesome ones down here, but always like checking out shops. I own my own business & I get board sitting in my office, so I jump in the car and go to saltwater fish shops. 2 weeks ago, just for the hell if it I went down to the Normal Il area just because.....by the way....I waist of time

Do you want the unit portable or mounted to the wall? I hate faucet adapters myself as they tie up the faucet for an extended period of time for one and they invariably leak.
Piercing the copper is not a problem or better yet get an inline tee adapter with a ball valve. Copper pipes are not a problem when they are on the tap water side. Copper is ONLY and issue when it is exposed to RO or RO/DI water which is very agressive.

I just did mine on the weekend...

Just used a needle valve that used for a fridge water supply or a humidifier...You don't even have to turn the water off...
