JMO, but I doubt that sand particles large enough to damage your pumps are going to stay in suspension for very long (perhaps if your pointing PH at the sand). And, the best way to remove the small particles that are clouding your water is to keep the particles in the water column for your filtration to remove them.

I wonder how powerhead would help to settle sand out.
I thought it's going to blow sand all over and cause problem again. |
