Choroquin Phosphate (sp?)

Hello:

I recently had a outbreak in my fishtank of some sort of bateria (which I cant even pronounce) and my LFS guru recommended me do 3 ONE week cycles of Choroquin Phosphate (manufactured by Bayer)

Its not an expensive treatment (the whole thing cost me $25) to get done....

I was wondering if anyone know anything about this and if I should be worried about something

PLEASE NOTE, he told me it kills all corals, good thing my tank is a FOWLR tank.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Regards,

Estefano

You should do a search of the RK mag site .. I recall that their was an article which mention the use of malaria medication (Chloroquine) as a treatment for some parasites.

Not something I would put in my show tank.

Good luck.

Tkx for the feedback, that is exactly what he suggested.

Use it for your QT but try to avoid it on your DT. however since 1 of my fish has the sickness they ALL DO. i can either leave my tank fishless for 4 weeks and move everyone to QT or try my luck with that medication in the main tank...

Regards,

Estefano
