flow rate

how do you determine the rate of flow currently in your tank?

it would be te total amount of GPH each powerhead/return line added togther divided by you tank vloume.

The RC home page down on the left colum you will find a few calculators. Though with flow ther isnt any one way and its only a guide. Powerhead palcement and amount of LR and LR placement and stock all play a part.

where should you place the powerheads? and how is the lr genrally placed?

I like 1 on the left side mid range facing the front center glass and then another one on the right off set and facing front center glass. You want rock lose and scattered for water to flow around it.If its clumped up then in time will only raise nitrates.
