Bubble algea
Hi
I have started to get bubble algea (about a dozen small green bubbles). How do I remove them from the tank without bursting them, I have tried this morning to buy a shringe to 'suck out' the contents and then remove the bubble, trouble is I cant buy these shringes in the UK (also got funny looks from my local chemist). Any advice is appriecated. PS I have an emerald crab (hitchhiker) that wonk touch it. Barry |

You don't need anything fancy .. I use anything handy thats near the tank - small/thin screwdriver, nail, etc.
If a rock is loaded with Bubble Algae you might consider taking it out of the tank and scrubbing off all of the bubbles in a bucket of SW ... just make sure you rinse the rock well in a separate clean bucket to wash away the algae spoors. |

I had a few pieces of rubble with these; scrubbed, rinsed and they never came back. I also have few on my large pieces of rock, if they get big enough to pull off without breaking them I do it. They tend to grow really slow though. If yours are growing fast you may want to find out where they are getting nutrients from.
