AquaC EV-180 Question
I'm in the process of buiding my sump/fuge which will house an EV-180. The sump is designed to fit under a bowfront cabinet so it's a bit narrower than your usual sump. As a result, real estate is at a premium.
My question: How robust is the waterflow coming out of the gatevalve on the 180? (I'll be running a throttled Mag 9.5). What I'm trying to figure out is how much space do I need to allow between the gatevalve and the first baffle in order to not put any back-pressure on the skimmer outflow or cause alot of splahing/noise. Anyone??? |

You really don't need that much space. You'll be fine as long as the gatevalve is over an inch away. You can always take it off.
I like my EV-180 better without the gatevalve. I replaced it with an elbow to channel the water down. I was able to run my Eheim 1262 pump on full blast. |

Oh, I have an EV-180 also... Watching this to see if it works in your sump. |
