DIY t5 Canopy

How close can have a 4 bulb setup (icecap 660) be to the water on a 72 bowfront and will 1 3 inch fan blowing out be enough??

fan should be enough, Would be better if you had 2, 1 for each end. But, I have my bulbs roughly 4 inches off the surface with my tank.. no problems at all.
