cheato algea question
I recently put cheato a;gea in my sump about 3 weeks ago. I looked at it today and it looks great. I have a light on it to help it grow. I notices the were green and red spots all over the side of the my sump tank. Is this a sign its healthy. Please let me know what these spots are

Will be tough without a pic.
Can you be more descriptive? Do they move?

Sounds like a few shades of coraline alge. If its flat on the glass and feels hard and crusty like calcium buildup thats most likely what it is.
If its puffed up and slimey looking its most likely cyano and some other form of bacteria or alge. If its the latter you could try more flow to combat it, though it might not be a bad thing, in the sump. |
